We are Intersectional Feminists
Inspired by Kimberle Crenshaw’s Intersectionality framework, our organisation focuses on understanding and addressing the complex, overlapping forms of discrimination affecting women in the global majority. We recognize the interplay of gender, race, class, and other social factors in shaping women's experiences with environmental challenges. This approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of the unique struggles faced by these women and guides our efforts to amplify their voices.
We are Anti-racist
We are steadfast in our opposition to racism and committed to dismantling systemic racial inequalities. Our work acknowledges the disproportionate effects of environmental degradation and climate change on communities of colour. We strive to ensure these communities have significant representation in environmental policymaking, advocating for equitable and just solutions.
We take a Decolonial Approach
Our mission is to challenge and reverse the legacies of colonialism, evident in the exploitation of natural resources and the marginalisation of indigenous and local communities. We prioritise respecting and integrating indigenous knowledge and practices in environmental management. Our advocacy focuses on promoting the rights and autonomy of indigenous peoples in environmental decision-making processes.
We are Anti-Capitalist
We critically examine and challenge the ways capitalist systems exacerbate environmental degradation. By opposing economic structures and practices that favour profit over ecological and community health, we advocate for sustainable, community-focused economic models. Our goal is to foster policies that balance ecological integrity with social justice. We aim to advocate for a circular economy.
We are Anti-speciesist
We are proudly anti-speciesist. While our focus is on the rights of human animals, we recognize that all beings are interconnected and that true justice must extend to all life on Earth. Our commitment to environmental and social justice includes protecting the more-than-human world and challenging practices that exploit or harm any living being. As an organization, we actively avoid materials and practices that contribute to suffering, honoring the intrinsic value of all life on our planet.
