Open Call for Freelance Women & Gender-Diverse Environmental Journalists 

​We are looking for freelance journalists to report on ecofeminist news from their own contexts and communities.

 

We want the latest stories that highlight:

 

  • Indigenous and marginalised Women-led environmental movements
     

  • Women’s lived experiences of climate and environmental injustice
     

  • How women are creating solutions (whether through slow tech, new innovations, or traditional knowledge) to confront the climate crisis and protect the environment

​Role requirements

Who we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of journalism experience (preferred)

  • A portfolio of published articles

  • Ability to provide original photography alongside your story (this can be taken with a phone or professional camera)

  • We welcome Articles in your native language, but we also require a translation in English. 


     

We are especially seeking journalists with access to communities in: Congo, India, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Uganda, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Kurdistan, Iran, Iraq, Western Sahara, Aotearoa, Guyana, Equatorial Guinea, Mali.

What we offer
 

  • €100–€150 per article

  • Full credit for your work on our platform

  • A place in our growing directory of journalists for continued collaborations


     

Important to note: We pay per article but cannot cover travel, food, or additional expenses. Payment will be provided on receipt of article.
