Between now and February 2024 we are going to be working on bringing you several short films, see below for a sneak peak at the climate justice activists we will be interviewing!

In this short film we aim to  shine a spotlight on the extraordinary journey of Houda Akrikez, a Moroccan activist and social worker  leading a courageous fight for equitable access to electricity in Cañada Real community. The short film aims to weave together themes of climate change, social justice, female leadership, and the power of community. Through the lens of Houda Akrikez's journey, this film will highlight the urgent need to address climate injustice and the vital role women play in effecting change.

In this short film, we will delve deep into the life and dedication of Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, an extraordinary Ugandan veterinarian and the visionary founder of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH). Dr. Kalema-Zikusoka is not just a pioneering force in the realm of wildlife conservation; she is also an indefatigable advocate for women's empowerment in Uganda. This cinematic voyage invites us to uncover the profound layers of her conservation work, emphasizing the pivotal role it plays in combating climate change and safeguarding our planet's precious biodiversity. Moreover, we traverse the unique challenges and triumphs associated with undertaking such a mission as a woman in Uganda.

​In this short film we will interview Akello Immaculate, Lawyer and the Founder and CEO Generation Engage Network, an organization which focuses on promoting social entrepreneurship, communal climate resilience in Kampala. The film focuses on Akello's perspective on the climate challenges facing her community and how she, as a passionate leader, is driving awareness and action for climate justice. Discover how this dynamic and impassioned leader is not merely advocating but actively igniting awareness and catalyzing meaningful action in the noble pursuit of climate justice.

We interview Lilian Nakigozi, the passionate leader behind the Women Smiles Uganda initiative. Through this film, we explore the intersection of climate change, community empowerment, and sustainable agriculture. We aim to shed light on the climate challenges faced by Lilian's community and how she is driving climate justice awareness while helping communities build resilience through adaptable and affordable vertical farming solutions.

In this short film, we will interview Dr. Perpetra Akite, a distinguished Ecologist, Entomologist, and lecturer at Makerere University. We will delve into her expertise and her profound understanding of the intersection between climate change and gender inequity in Uganda and other regions of the global south. Through a candid conversation we will explore how Dr. Akite imparts her perspectives on the climate challenges her community faces and deepen our understanding of how her leadership as an educator and ecologist is fostering knowledge and awareness.
